Spellbinders – Halloween Icons Press Plate & Die Set

Ranger/Tim Holtz – Distress Peeled Paint Ink Pad
Ranger/Tim Holtz – Distress Black Soot Ink Pad

White Cardstock from my Scrap Bin
Pinkfresh Studio – Magic Potion Drops Gems
Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue
Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foiling System
Misti Original Stamp Positioning Tool
Anna Griffin Empress Die Cutting Machine
To begin today’s card, I used the largest die from the Spellbinders Mirrored Arch Labels die set and die cut one Spellbinders Brushed Black panel and one from heavy weight white cardstock. I used my score board to score the white panel at 4-5/8” on one of the long ends since it will be serving as my card base. Using the next to the largest die from the same Mirrored Arch Labels die set, I die cut another panel of white cardstock to use for ink blending and background stamping my card front.
I stamped the moon, haunted house, and tree from the Stampers Anonymous “Sketch Manor” stamp set onto a piece of Gina K. Designs Masking Magic and fussy cut the images. I placed the smaller white cardstock panel into my stamp positioner and stamped the same three images where I would like them to be on my scene. After that, I removed the backing paper from the fussy cut, masking magic stamped images and placed them over the images I had stamped onto the smaller, white cardstock panel.
Using the Crushed Olive Distress Ink pad and a small-ish ink blending brush, I ink blended heavily around the moon and lightly across the rest of the card front panel. Then, I used the Peeled Paint Distress Ink and a larger blending brush and applied ink all over the background and avoiding the halo area around the moon. Lastly, going back to using the smaller ink blending brush, I applied Distress Black Soot ink around the outer perimeter edges of the card front. Once the ink blending was completed, I removed the Masking Magic pieces from the front of the card.
Now for coloring the background images I had stamped. For the moon, I simply used a small blending brush and Distress Antique Linen Ink and carefully applied the ink (aka, tried to stay in the lines!). I used Copic markers to color the haunted house and tree – the markers I used were:
Tree: E55, E57
Haunted House: C7, C5, C2, E50

For the sentiment, I used the Spellbinders Halloween Icons Press Plate and Die Set and used Spellbinders Opaque White Glimmer Foil to hot foil all the sentiments in the set (it’s one press plate and die for all the sentiments) and after die cutting the sentiments with the coorindating die, I chose the Happy Halloween sentiment.
My final tasks were putting foam adhesive to the back side of the skeleton trick-or-treater and the sentiment and adhering both to the front of the card and adding five Pinkfresh Studio “Magic Potion Drops Gems near the sentiment. Card completed!

Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed this Day 6 card showcasing the dies from the Spellbinders 13 Days of Craftoween boxed kit and found inspiration for some of your own card making projects!
Until next time… happy making!
