Day 10 | Spellbinders 13 Days of Craftoween

Hi friends!  I’m back to share my creation for Day 10 from the 2025 Spellbinders 13 Days of Craftoween kit. 

The supplies used were:

I began today’s card by creating my card base which was an A2, side folding card.  This is a rare instance when my card base also serves as my card front.

Since the Day 10 die set is sort of a Dia de los Muertos flower, I decided to try and make a card front that is reminiscent of that theme with bright colors, ribbons, bones, greenery, etc.  With that in mind, I started by die cutting the Hero Arts “Ribbons Cover Plate” die from Spellbinders Mulberry cardstock two times so I could double it up for dimension.  I adhered the main ribbon frame from the diecut (x2) centered onto the card front. 

Next, I began die cutting and assembling the individual pieces for the Day 10 envelope’s dies.  The type and colors of cardstock for each of the pieces were:

    Wings, Stem:  Spellbinders Rainforest Cardstock

    Eyes, Facial Elements:  Black Cardstock

    Face:  White Cardstock

    Petals Around Face:  Spellbinders Cosmic Sky Cardstock

    Petals Around Eyes:  Spellbinders Mulberry Cardstock

I glued the flower stem and “wings”/petals to the card front and then popped the flower head up on black foam squares and adhered it to the card.  Using a size 10 Sakura white gel pen, I added accents around the eyes and on each of the petals.

Using the Spellbinders “Rainbow Slice Tunnel” die set, I selected some of the dies that were leaves, flowers, flower centers, and greenery and die cut multiples from various colors of Spellbinders Essential cardstocks since I didn’t really know how many I would want to use and of what colors.  After die cutting, I began placing these floral and greenery elements around the card front before gluing them down. I wanted to add a couple bones above the flower and I die cut two of the cross bones from the Day 3 envelope dies from this series and trimmed off the portions of the cross bones that I didn't need.

For the sentiment, I chose one that I created in an earlier crafting session in this series that was created using the Spellbinders “All Seasons Autumn” Press Plate and Die Set, Spellbinders Opaque White Glimmer Foil, and the Glimmer Hot Foil System.  I added Ranger Glossy Accents to the eyes and flower centers as my final embellishment.
