To start today’s card, I used the largest die from the Spellbinders Precision Layering A2 A dies set and die cut four panels – one from each of these colors:  Spellbinders Anchor cardstock, Spellbinders Onyx Matte Metallic Treasured cardstock, Spellbinders Onyx Brushed Metallic Treasured cardstock, and Spellbinders Brushed Black cardstock.  I also die cut the two dies in the Day 11 envelope from the 13 Days of Craftoween box kit – the base die from Spellbinders Tuscan cardstock and the haunted house front layer from Scrapbook.com’s Glossy Black cardstock.  I also cut the haunted house front die one more time but only focused the die cutting on the lower portion of the house since I wanted to die cut the front door out of Spellbinders Cranberry cardstock.

I positioned the haunted house diecut where I wanted it to be on the Anchor cardstock panel to allow me to be able to position the Spellbinders’ “Rainbow Slice Tunnel” die set’s three thinnest slices that cut the “V” into the cardstock to diecut a section from the top of the Anchor, Brushed Black, and Onyx Brushed Metallic cardstocks so that the “V” shapes appear to be coming from the house’s chimney.  The die cutting order is the widest shaped “V” to the narrowest starting with Anchor receiving the widest “V” cut, the Brushed Black receiving the middle sized “V”, and the Onyx Brushed Metallic cut with the narrowest “V”.

I glued the haunted house glossy black die cut to the Tuscan yellow base die cut and then glued the Cranberry door into place.  Next, I used a 3” x 5” strip of Simon Says Stamp’s Slate Grey cardstock and cut it in half using the Brass & Bliss “Deckle Hills” die.  With a blending brush, I added Black Soot Distress Ink to the largest of the two paper strip halves to darken it a bit since I wanted it to appear to be further in the distance.  Then, I layered and glued them to the bottom of the card front (the Anchor cardstock panel).

Using A Colorful Life Designs’ “Cloud Edger” stencil/mask, I used the blending brush and Black Soot Distress Ink to add clouds all down the front of the card front panel.  After cleaning the ink off the cloud edger mask, I used the same blending brush to add Black Soot around the outer edges of the card front.  Next, I began gluing my shades of black card panels together.  I glued the Onyx Brushed Metallic cardstock to the Onyx Matte Metallic, then the Brushed Black cardstock on top of that followed by the card front glued on last.  I placed the card front panel into my splat box and generously splattered Winsor & Newton white gouache and Iuile Watercolors’ Crystal watercolor paint onto the card front.  I did mask the tunnel slices and ground layers to ensure I didn’t get splatter onto them.

I added foam squares to the upper back side of the haunted house die cut and liquid glue to the bottom portion and placed it onto the card front where the die cut slices lined up with the chimney.  I also added three of the black bat diecuts from the Day 11 die set on the card front.  And for the sentiment, I chose the “Enter If You Dare!” stamp from the Craftoween kit and stamped it onto the Slate Grey cardstock and heat embossed it using Brutus Monroe Alabaster White embossing powder.  I die cut the sentiment using Altenew’s “Featured Sentiments” dies – 2” die and also the glossy black mat for the sentiment was die cut using the 2-1/4” die.  Additionally, I added two small, black gems on both ends of the sentiment that came from Picket Fence Studios’ “Day and Night” gem mix.

That completes today’s card!  Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed this Day 11 card showcasing the dies from the Spellbinders 13 Days of Craftoween boxed kit and found inspiration for some of your own card making projects!  I can’t believe we only have two die sets left and I can’t wait to see what they are!

Until next time… happy making!
