Valentine's Day 2024 | Bokeh Hearts

For the background, I used a piece of Distress Watercolor Cardstock and taped it to a watercolor hardbord and liberally sprayed it with water using my Distress Sprayer. I lightly sprinkled two different colors of Lindy's Magical Shakers - "Have a Scone Heather" and "Pemberley Pride Purple" - all over the panel and aided the water moved just a smidge with a small watercolor brush until the entire panel was covered in color. I set this aside to dry naturally.

Once the watercolor panel was completely dry, I used light tack tape to tape the Waffle Flower Bokeh Heart Stencil on top of the watercolor panel. I put a small scoop of Gina K. Designs Red Velvet Glitz Glitter Gel onto a piece of acetate on my work surface. Since I wanted the gel's base to be less red, but yet keep the red glitter, I added about four or five drops of Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink Reinker to the Glitter Gel and mixed it until I ended up with a more purplish base to the gel. Next, I used a palette knife and craft scraper to spread the Glitter Gel mixture across the stencil and onto the watercolor panel and set it aside to dry while I moved on to the sentiment.

For the sentiment, I used Simon Says Stamp's "Fancy Love You" dies and cut three dimensional layers from random dark purple cardstock I had in my stash; however, I cut the top/fourth layer from beautiful cardstock I received in subscription Box 4 from Your Paper Insider called Fashion Purple Silk. The shadow layer was cut from a piece of White Iridescent Vellum, also from Your Paper Insider, that came in their subscription Box 6... beautiful! I love picking and choosing the perfect papers from their subscription boxes - so much fun. I glued the sentiment layers together and then adhered the sentiment to the vellum shadow layer.

I cut an A2 size matting layer of the Your Paper Insider Fashion Purple Silk cardstock and adhered the watercolor panel to the matting piece. Then used strong adhesive tape to adhere the card front to an A2 top folding card base. Once I glued the sentiment to the card front this card was completed.

I hope you enjoyed today's card! Until next time... Happy Making!
