Christmas 2023 | ‘Tis the Season

Hi there!

Today I’m sharing the steps I used to create this adorable card with the Stamping Bella stamp labeled “Tiny Townie Garden Girl Holly”.

• Stamp the Holly image onto a piece of white cardstock using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink.

• Color the image with Caran d’Ache, Luminance colored pencils and added Nuvo Glitter Gloss to the holly leaves and Ranger’s Glossy Accents to the berries.

• Watercolor a 9” x 4” piece of watercolor cardstock using Masha’s Watercolors (Peach and Shadow Green Dark) – Masha has a shop on Etsy if you are interested in the exact same paints I used. Splatter the panel using Kuretake Brilliant Gold Mica Ink.

• Cut the watercolor panel and a piece of black cardstock using Whimsy Stamps “Slimline Cornered Rectangle” dies.

• Add Simon Says Stamp’s Big Momma Foam Tape strips to adhere the watercolor panel to the black panel.

• Emboss the watercolored panel with the sentiment from Ranger’s “Letter It – Christmas” stamp set using Simon Says Stamp’s Ultra Fine embossing powder in black and heat set.

• Adhere the Holly image to the watercolor card panel using Simon Says Stamp 3D Foam Squares and all the card front panels to a slimline card base that was created using the same Whimsy Stamps “Slimline Cornered Rectangle” die set.

• Add embellishment gemstones cascading down front of card front.

Christmas in July 2023 | Warm Wishes

Continuing with the 2023 Christmas in July series, I decided to use Prismacolor Premier pencils to color the images for a switch-up from my norm. I hope you enjoy my card making process!

I began this card project by stamping some of the images from the Pawsome Stamps "Deck the Halls" stamp set using Lawn Fawn's Jet Black Ink onto white card stock. Instead of my usual Copic markers, I decided to use the Prismacolor Premier colored pencils for adding color to the images. Once the pencil work was completed, I used a Pentel gold Sparkle Pop pen and a gold Sakura Gelly Roll metallic pen to add some sparkle to the ornament tops and accents.

I cut the card front panel to be slightly smaller than an A2 card panel and adhered it to an A2 size piece of Simon Says Stamp red card stock (it was part of a pre-cut package of Simon's card stock colors), then glued the panels to the front of a top folding, A2 card panel. For the sentiment, I used the Simon Says Stamp "Christmas Blessings" stamp and die set to stamp the Warm Wishes image directly onto my decorated card front panel - SCARY! - using jet black ink. For a little dimension and interest, I added Pretty Pink Posh "Cherry Red" pearls to some of the greenery at the top of the card panel... and with that, this card is completed.

Christmas In July 2023 | 'Tis the Season

I've started my Christmas in July series by using stamps from Purple Onion Designs, Simon Says Stamp, and Gina K. Designs. I hope you enjoy my card making process!

I began this card project by stamping the Gina K. Design's "Delicate Snowflake" background stamp using Altenew's Turquoise Crisp Dye Ink. I utilized one of Tim Holtz's Collage Brushes to apply a coat of Distress Collage Medium Matte to the snowflake stamped card panel. Acting quickly... I generously coated the Distress Clear Rock Candy glitter over the entire panel and let it sit about 20 seconds before tapping off the excess to ensure I had a good layer of Rock Candy stuck to the Collage Medium. Once the excess had been tapped off, I set this panel aside to dry.

Next, I selected the "Jolly" stamp from Purple Onion Designs and used Lawn Fawn's Jet Black ink to stamp the snowman image onto a piece of alcohol marker friendly card stock. I used my Copic Sketch markers to color the image, the Brother Scan 'N Cut to cut out the image, and applied Simon Says Stamp 3D Foam Squares to the back.

I cut the snowflake/Rock Candy card front panel to be slightly smaller than an A2 card panel and adhered it to the front of a top folding, A2 card panel. For the sentiment, I used the Simon Says Stamp "Christmas Blessings" stamp and die set to stamp the 'Tis the Season image onto white card stock using jet black ink and cut it out using the matching die from the set. LOVE THIS STAMP/DIE SET!!! I placed 3D foam squares to the back side of the sentiment and positioned it and the snowman image on the card front in the location I thought looked good. This finished off the last task of a super easy to make Christmas card.
