I started today’s card hot foiling my background.  I used the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foiling System and their Spider Web Backgrounds Press Plate along with Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil in the color Copper.  After the foiling was completed, I used the largest die in the Spellbinders Precision Layering A2 A die set and cut the foiled panel.

For the spider:  I die cut the legs and eyes dies from Spellbinders Oceanside cardstock and the main body die from Spellbinders Blue Spruce cardstock.  The eyes die was simply cut out of a scrap of white cardstock from my stash.  The top hat was die cut from Spellbinders Onyx Brushed Metallic Treasured Cardstock and the hat band was cut from Spellbinders Teal Topaz cardstock and all the spider’s layers and the hat were glued together and set aside to dry.

While the spider’s glue was drying, I grabbed a piece of Cardstock Warehouse’s Stardream Gold cardstock, trimmed it to 4-1/4” x 2”, placed it into Spellbinders’ Geo Quilt embossing folder, and ran it through my die cutting machine.  I adhered the spiderweb foiled panel to the front of an A2 size card base and then glued the embossed strip of gold cardstock to the bottom of the card front.

Using the largest die from the Spellbinders Precision Layering A2 A dies, I die cut a piece of spider web patterned paper that was included in the Simple Stories 6x8 Spooky Things paper pad.  For the black cardstock panel, I die cut a black piece of cardstock to measure 3-3/4” x 5-1/2” and used liquid glue to adhere the black panel to the patterned paper panel.

For my sentiment, I die cut the letters “BOO” from the Lawn Fawn’s Henry’s ABCs die set twice from black cardstock and once from the Spellbinders Onyx Brushed Metallic Treasured cardstock and glued those layers together.  I ran a black Copic marker around the edges of the letters since the Treasured cardstock has a white backing – just to make it look nice.

Using the Spellbinders Welcome Fall die set, I die cut the two pieces that make the wooden sign from white cardstock and stamped the sentiment from the 13 Days of Craftoween kit onto the sign front.  Once the ink dried, I used a blending brush and ink blended Catherine Pooler Bronze Pigment Ink all over the surfaces of the sign and signpost. Once the ink dried, I glued the sign onto the front top of the signpost.  For the crow, I pulled out the Spellbinders Autumn Scarecrow die set and die cut the three pieces for the crow from black, white, and grey cardstock and glued the pieces together.

The only task left is to assemble the scene onto the card front with a combination of foam squares and Bearly Art Glue.

Now just to bring it all together!  I glued the little ghost directly to the card front and added foam squares to the back of the bottle to give it some dimension before adding it to the card front.  Lastly, I added five Pinkfresh Studio Amethyst Glitter Drops for my final embellishment.

That completes today’s card!  Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed this Day 5 card showcasing the dies from the Spellbinders 13 Days of Craftoween boxed kit and found inspiration for some of your own card making projects!

Until next time… happy making!
